Direct Access Scheme (DAS)

This enables riders over the age of 21, or those you reach 21 before their 2 year restriction ends, to ride larger motorcyles sooner.

To obtain a licence to do so you are required to:

  • Have successfully completed a CBT course
  • Passed a theory test
  • Passed a practical test on a machine with a power output of at least 35kW

To practise you can ride large motorcycles, with L plates on public roads, but only when accompanied by an approved instructor on another motorcycle in radio contact.
